Laf. County Dems to meet Feb. 1

DARLINGTON - There will be a meeting of the Lafayette County Democratic Party at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 1, at Annie's Bar and Grill in Darlington.

Jake Hajdu of the Democratic Party of Wisconsin will be guest speaker for the evening. The meeting is open to the public.

Janesville

German group to meet Feb. 7

JANESVILLE - The German Interest Group will meet at 7 p.m., Monday, Feb. 7, at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 2921 Mt. Zion Ave., Janesville.

The guest speaker will be Ted Kinnaman, whose lecture is titled "The Tragedy of the Weimar Republic: Politics and Culture." The Weimar Republic was the government of Germany from 1919 until 1933. It was Germany's first democratic government and was culturally brilliant as well as politically tragic. Kinnaman is an emeritus professor of music from University of Wisconsin-Rock County. Chamber After 5 is tonight

MONROE - The Monroe Chamber of Commerce's January Chamber Business After 5 event will be from 5 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 26 at Orchid Monroe. The program will be by Fuzzy of Fuzzy's Audio and Video.

The event features a time to network; participants are encouraged to bring business cards.
