Historic images to be shown Nov. 4

MONROE - The public is invited to attend a slide show of the Trukenbrod glass negatives that were printed into "A Glimpse Back In Time," a book released by the Green County Historical Society early in October. The slide show will begin at 6 p.m. on Thursday Nov. 4 at the Monroe Public Library.

The images, taken around downtown Monroe and at the schools by pharmacist William E. Trukenbrod before 1920, will be projected onto a large screen allowing viewers to see more details than can be noticed in the book. There will also be time to ask questions about the photos. Books may also be purchased at the meeting for $15 each. All proceeds from the book are used to operate the historical society and to help maintain the historic buildings on their complex.

For those unable to make it to the meeting, books may be purchased at Sequels on the east side of the Square.
