Alumni Banquet slated for May 28

ALBANY - The Albany Alumni Banquet will be at 6 p.m. Saturday, May 28, at the Albany Lion's Club. The evening will begin with a social hour, followed by a family-style dinner.

President Jim Runass will conduct a short business meeting and present scholarships to graduating seniors. Anniversary classes will be recognized. Reservations are due by May 20 and should be sent to Dan Weber, N5926 Marie Court, Albany, WI 53502.

Founder's Day event will be May 11

MONROE - The Green Country Chapter of the Wisconsin Alumni Association will be holding its 2011 Founder's Day Celebration Wednesday, May 11, at the Monroe Country Club, 2205 21st St.

The cash-bar reception starts at 5:30 p.m., with dinner to follow at 7 p.m. Phil Kollmeyer will lead the Making Green County Greener panel discussion, and Keith Comacchia and Craig Woodard from Orchid International will present "Electric Vehicles are Finally Here! Their Potential Role in a Carbon Fuel-Constrained World."

Alumni and friends of the University of Wisconsin should RSVP by Friday, May 6 to Dave Mosher at P.O. Box 707, Monroe.

New YMCA cycling classes to begin

MONROE - The Green County Family YMCA will feature new group cycling classes, starting Monday, May 9.

The classes, which are 45 minutes long, will run Mondays at 8:45 a.m., 12:15 p.m., and 5:15 p.m.; Tuesdays at 5:15 a.m.; and Thursdays at 5:15 a.m. Classes will run as four-week sessions, with a new session immediately following the first four weeks.

Non-YMCA members may begin signing up for classes Friday, May 6. For more information, contact the YMCA at (608) 325-2003.

Habitat ride set for May 21 in NG

MONROE - Habitat for Humanity of Green County will host its annual Bike 4 Habitat fundraiser Saturday, May 21 in New Glarus. Last year, the event featured more than 90 riders who collectively raised approximately $18,000.

The deadline for sponsorships at this year's event is Monday, May 9. There are four level of sponsorships, and all sponsors will receive recognition at the event and on the Habitat for Humanity website. For more information on the event, visit www.greencountyhabitat.org.
