Monroe High vocal concert is May 17

MONROE - The Monroe High School Vocal Music Department will present the May Concert, directed by Judy Bennett, at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, May 17 at the performing arts center, 1600 26th St.

The concert will honor the graduating senior choir members, including Liridon Abduli, Carly Jordan Anderson, Nicole Renee Braden, McKenzie Janelle Brice, Erica Raeanne Hegi, Spencer Michael Keith, Bridget Christine Kelly, Johanna Jordan Mellenberger, Alexandria Dawn Mitchell, Alyssa Dawn Montgomery, Casey Lee Patterson, Thomas Edward Reynolds, Travis Jay Robb, Kelly Jo Robertson, Kimberly Sue Robertson, Jenni Meier Stretsbery, Ryan David Treuthardt, Shawn Austin Turner, Michelle Scott Wiesenberg and Christina Wyttenbach.

A free-will donation will be taken at the door.

Spring luncheon, plant sale on May 12

APPLE RIVER, Ill. - A spring luncheon, plant sale and craft show, hosted by the Apple River Presbyterian Church, will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 12 at the Apple River Event Center, 446 E. Hickory St.

Coffee and homemade cinnamon rolls will be available at 9 a.m.

Lunch will be served starting at 11 a.m. and includes ham and scalloped potatoes, salad, vegetables, roll, drink and desert. Carry-outs will be available. The price is $7.50 for adults and $5 for children.

Plants and crafts will be available.

Monticello

Historical Society opens for season

MONTICELLO - The Monticello Area Historical Society, 204 N. Main St., is participating in the Wisconsin Museums Week by opening its doors for the summer season on Saturday, May 5.

Hours for the Monticello Area Historical Society Museum are 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays. Other hours can be arranged by calling (608) 938-4602. The theme on display is "Sports of All Sorts," which showcases some of the more unusual sports enjoyed in the past.
