Monroe students in symposium

MADISON - Mallory Berrey and John Frey, both of Monroe, participated in the 12th annual University of Wisconsin-Madison Undergraduate Symposium on April 15. The students presented class or independent projects in the form of a poster, display, oral presentation or performance at the Memorial Union on the UW-Madison campus.

"Presenting at the Undergraduate Symposium gives students a chance to practice how to talk about their work to a general audience, in addition to speaking in more technical terms to their professional peers and mentors," said UW-Madison Vice Provost for Teaching and Learning Aaron Brower. "Being able to talk to a range of audiences about your work is a crucial set of skills students need these days."

"The Undergraduate Symposium has become the premier campus-wide event showcasing our students' incredible talents in research and scholarship, creative works, and community involvement," said Brower. "Former Symposium presenters have gone on to brilliant careers in academia, law, medicine, business, the arts, and the sciences."
