Garden Club to meet Wednesday

MONROE - The Monroe Garden Club will meet at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 28 at the Behring Senior Center, 1113 10th St.

The $5 membership dues will be collected and program books will be distributed. The speaker will be Melissa Briggs from The Garden Spot. Carol Ellingson will give the project on the history Cracker Jacks.

New members are welcome.

Privilege Plus club to meet May 8

MONROE - First National Bank and Trust Company's Privilege Plus Club will host a meeting to discuss investments and euchre for 2012 at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 8 in the Community Room at First National Bank, 1625 10th St.

Refreshments will be provided and prizes will be given away, including a trip to see the Brewers take on the Giants on May 23 at Miller Park. The event is for those 55 and older.

Easter musical set for April 1, 6

JUDA - Juda Zion and Oakley Union Churches will presents the Easter musical "The Joy Awaiting" at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, April 1 and at 1:30 p.m. Friday, April 6 at Juda Zion, N2350 Church St.

"The Joy Awaiting" tells of the Easter story from the angels' point of view. The musical begins as Christ is getting ready to ascend to his death on the cross. The angels are astounded that he would give of himself to save mankind. The story journeys through the angels' contemplation and rejoicing as Christ is victorious over death, allowing mankind redemption and salvation.

Accompanying the story an array of musical genres. There is no charge for admission; there will be a free-will offering.
