Strawberry sundae event planned

BRODHEAD - Celebrate springtime with fresh local strawberries at "Strawberry Sundae Sunday" from, 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, June 12 at Veterans Park, Brodhead. The event is the final one of the "Key Ingredients: America by Food" traveling Smithsonian exhibit, will be held at the corner of 1st Center Avenue and 12th Street in Brodhead.

The sundaes, which are free until they run out, will consist of strawberries from Brent and Vickie Condon's Morningstar Farm, Brodhead, as well as ice cream from the Green County Ag Chest. A number of food-related vendors will also be available as part of a mini-farmers market.

Monroe

Brat Bash is today at Twining Valley

MONROE - The Twining Valley Retirement Community, The Monroe Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Serenity Haven Homecare Services and the Harbor House will host its 2011 Brat Bash at 11 a.m., June 9, at Twining Valley, 700 8th Ave., Monroe.

For a donation of $5, attendees will receive a brat, a bag of chips, and a soda. Carry outs and deliveries are available. Raffle tickets can also be purchased for items donated by local businesses.

All proceeds from the event will go to Monroe Clinic Hospice.

Janesville

BTC to host two business seminars

JANESVILLE - Blackhawk Technical College will host two seminars that will help area businesses find contracting opportunities and learn how to market to the federal government Wednesday, June 22 in Janesville. The training session will be conducted by the Business Procurement Assistance Center (BPAC) of Madison College.

The first half of the training, "Finding Federal Opportunities - Computer Lab," will be held from 9 a.m. to noon, and will be devoted to providing tips and techniques on how to search the Internet and government websites. The fee for this seminar is $35 per person.

The second half of the training, "Marketing to the Federal Government," will be held from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Attendees will learn how marketing to the federal government differs from marketing in the commercial sector, how to develop a marketing action plan, various strategies on partnering/networking, as well as some marketing tips and techniques. The fee for this seminar is $35 per person.
