Woman's Club helps EMS with donation

MONROE - The GFWC Monroe Woman's Club has donated a pediatric jump-kit bag, better know as a ped bag, to the Green County EMS and Blackhawk Technical College.

A ped bag is filled with supplies sized for infants and children in one organized, easily-accessible location.

The bag gives the EMS provider easy access to supplies appropriate for the size of the child and makes it possible to provide faster emergency care.

In 2004, the club purchased its first two ped bags for Green County Emergency Medical Services and outfitted two ambulances with them. Now, due to monetary gifts to the club, ped bags have been given to the third ambulance and two ped bags to Blackhawk Technical College for use in training students and emergency personal.

Donations of ped bags are a part of a statewide project to equip Wisconsin's EMS ambulance departments with critical pediatric equipment.
