MUMC to host VBS beginning Sunday
MONROE - The Monroe United Methodist Church will host its Vacation Bible School from 6 to 8:15 p.m. Sunday, July 29 through Friday, Aug. 3 at the church, 2227 4th St.
The topic for the week is "Grow." Programs for children and adults will explore how Jesus helps individuals grow.

Church hymn sing set for Sept. 23
MONTICELLO - A church hymn sing will take place at 9:15 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 23 to celebrate Zwingli United Church of Christ's 125-year history.
The church is located at 416 East Lake Ave.
Those attending worship are invited to wear period clothing, reflective of any period of Zwingli's history, including the founding years in the late 1880s, the Roaring 20s or the 60s.
During the event, women and girls will sit on one side of the sanctuary and the men and boys on the other.
Worshippers may also ride to church on a horse.
