Local residents to judge talent show

JUDA - The Juda Spanish Club and Math Team have announced judges for the Juda's Got Talent show at 7 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 29.

Judging will be: long-time Juda resident Glenn Marass, Sugar River Bank executive; Curt Brown, Juda Social Studies teacher and coach of the Juda Lady Panthers; and alumni and parent team Darlene and Kim Becker.

The talent show will be held in Juda School's small gymnasium. Some of the feature acts include Juda's Jazz Band and a drum line. Tickets can be purchased the night of the event; tickets are $5 for adults; $3 for children 18 and under; and free for children under 3.

Submissions taken for Prairie Wind

FREEPORT - Submissions are now being accepted for the Prairie Wind magazine, a collection of original poetry, prose, visual art, and recorded music contributed by students, staff, alumni, and other members of the Highland Community.

The magazine is published annually by Highland Community College. It is a cooperative project of the Humanities, Graphic Design, Art, and Music departments in the Division of Humanities and Social Sciences. Each issue is created by an editorial board composed of students and volunteer community members who are guided by a team of faculty advisors.

Orfordville

Legion Post to host Valentine's dinner

ORFORDVILLE - American Legion Post 209, Orfordville, will hold a Valentine's dinner dance from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 12, at the clubhouse on Wisconsin 213, Orfordville.

Knute's Catering will serve a buffet dinner featuring prime rib, chicken, ribs, shrimp, turkey and spaghetti with full salad and dessert bar. Music by the band Enroute will start at 7 p.m.
