Bible Church plans blood drive

NEW GLARUS - New Glarus Bible Church is hosting a Red Cross blood drive from 1 to 6 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 22 at the New Glarus Bible Church.

Giving blood takes about an hour. Refreshments will be served.

Butler to speak at Chamber dinner

MONROE - LeRoy Butler, defensive back for the Green Bay Packers from 1990 to 2001, will be the keynote speaker at the Monroe Chamber of Commerce annual dinner Thursday, Jan. 20, at Peppercorn Banquets and Catering.

Butler was named to the Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame in 2007 and was the creator of the "Lambeau Leap."

The cash bar begins at 6 p.m.; the dinner and program will begin at 7 p.m.

Tickets for members are available for purchase until Monday, Dec. 20. There is limited seating. Tickets are open for purchase to non-members after Monday, Dec. 20. Tickets are $50 for members and $75 for non-members. Call the chamber at (608) 325-7648 for more information.

Chamber After 5 event is Thursday

MONROE - The Monroe Chamber of Commerce's December Business After 5 event is planned from 5 to 7 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 16 at Fuzzy's Audio/Video.

Those attending should bring business cards for networking opportunity. Fuzzy's Audio/Video is located at 141 W. 7th Street, Monroe.

Madrigal dinner now set for Dec. 19

MONROE - The Monroe High School Madrigal Dinner originally scheduled for Sunday, Dec. 12, has been rescheduled for Sunday, Dec. 19.

Hors d'oeuvres will be served at 11:30 a.m. with the dinner at noon in the MHS M-Room.

The event was postponed due to inclement weather. Seating is reserved; tickets for the original date will be honored at the Dec. 19 event. As of Wednesday, four tickets remained. For more information on attending, contact Judy Bennett at 328-7325.

Donate cookies for Christmas fund

MONROE - The Middle School Builders Club students and sponsor Barbara McArdle have committed to provide and pack 150 dozen cookies for the Monroe Christmas Stocking Fund.

Donations of cookies from the public may be brought to the Middle School office this week. They will be frozen until packed.

Packing will begin at 1:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 20. Any parents willing to assist students in packing are encouraged to call the school at 328-7120 to volunteer.

McConnell

Christmas Eve service planned

MCCONNELL - The McConnell United Methodist Church will hold its traditional candelight service at 8 p.m., Friday, Dec. 24. The church is located at 211 N. Hulbert Road in McConnell. The Nativity Story will be shared along with singing of many Christmas hymns and carols. The service will end in the singing of "Silent Night" by candlelight. The public is invited.
