Cheesemaking center event set
MONROE - The National Historic Cheesemaking Center, Monroe, will make a presentation to the Green County Genealogical Society at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 6, in the second floor community room of the Monroe Public Library, 925 16th Ave., Monroe.
Mary Ann Hanna and JoAnn Schwitz, from the center, will be the presenters. Their presentation will also include the recently produced DVD on the Imobersteg cheese factory. This farmstead factory was recently "discovered," moved to the center and restored, after nearly 100 years since the last cheese was produced.
The general public is invited to hear this free presentation. A short business meeting will precede the presentation.

Winslow
Society to host antique display
WINSLOW - The Winslow Historical Society will host an antique display show and brat stand on Saturday, Aug. 13, at the museum, 606 Bridge St., Winslow.
Setup will be next to the museum, and the public is invited to bring their antique tractors, cars, machinery or engines to display.
In addition, there will be a brat stand starting at 9:30 a.m. and a farmers market at 11 a.m.
Those wishing to setup a table for the farmers market is invited to do so at no charge. Bring your own table.

Juda
Students offer dinner theater
JUDA - Juda music students will present "Last Respect," a dinner theater fundraiser at 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 20 and at 1 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 21.
The menu will include poor man's prime rib, cheesy potatoes, green beans and a dessert.
Dinner tickets are $15 for adults and $8 for kids 10 and under.
A limited number of tickets will be sold at the door, so to reserve tickets, contact the Juda School at (608) 934-5251.
All proceeds will go to the Juda music trip to Washington DC, which is planned for this spring.

20 sign up for blood drive
SOUTH WAYNE - Twenty people signed up as potential donors for the Red Cross Blood Drive at Black Hawk School, South Wayne, on July 14, 2011, with a total of 18 pints of blood collected.
Reaching gallon marks were Jim Meier, 11 gallons, and Mark Sterkowicz, 2 gallons. There were no first-time donors.
Other donors were Kevin Baker, Carissa Baker, Loretta Brummel, Richard (Hook) Fernsteadt, Jack Hagen, Connie Meier, Eleanor Gille, Carl Gillie, Brittany Duebel, Katie Brummel, Al Mau, Mary Mcknight, Laura Toerck, Michael Toerck, Carol Meier, Ed Ernst, Grant Dale, and Cheryl Dale.
Donating to the Canteen were Chula Vista Cheese, Valley View Cheese, Renita Berget (Our Saviors Lutheran Church), JD's One Stop, South Wayne Mart, Pat Baumgartner, Joyce Paulson, and Connie Meier. Helpers were JoAnn Crotty, Loretta Brummel, Joyce Paulson, and Connie Meier.
The next Blood Drive in South Wayne will be held Sept.16.
