Juda High School students can earn college credits
JUDA - Juda High School is partnering with the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh and its Cooperative Academic Partnership Program (CAPP) to offer high school students the opportunity to earn college credits.
Through concurrent enrollment in Juda High School and UW-Oshkosh, students receive both high school and college credit for successfully complete the course. The course is the same course taught at UW-Oshkosh, but offered by Juda High School teachers in the high school setting.
Juda's first course will be college calculus; students who successfully complete the CAPP course will earn four college credits. The credits earned through CAPP are accepted at all UW schools and most other colleges.
UW-Oshkosh charges CAPP students approximately 40 percent of what tuition would cost a traditional student on campus.

Program's focus on Wisconsin's early days as a territory
BELMONT - The Lafayette County Historical Society will hold its quarterly meeting at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 5 at the First Territorial Capital, 18904 County G.
After a brief business meeting, Marion Howard will present the "The Golden Plan."
The program tells of Thomas Jefferson's plan for developing the Northwest Territory. It traces Wisconsin's progression through the territorial days to statehood and the formation of the first counties in Wisconsin.
Howard will also recount how the county seat locations were chosen and how the Lafayette County seat depended on a green felt hat.

Fish fry to benefit Green County Relay
BRODHEAD - Brodhead Relay Team J & J - Double the Cure is hosting a Friday night fish and chicken buffet from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 27 at the Red Flame Family Restaurant, 2107 1st Center Ave.
The buffet is a team fundraiser for the 2012 Green County Relay.

MONROE - The Monroe Garden Club will meet at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 25 at the Behring Senior Center, 1113 10th St.
Gaida Vickerman will speak on community gardens. A plant exchange will be held. The club will discuss various topics, including the Cheese Days float, planting flowers on May 17 at the library and historical museum, greenhouse tours and the Cadiz Springs Park tour.

MONROE - The piano students of Gwen Shaker will present their "Music Around the World" recital at 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 2 at St. Victor School, 1760 14th St.
Students who will be performing include: Deven Vasquez, Henry Schluesche, Clare-Michaela Hughes, Bailey Hoesly, Lilly Cherney, Grant Gogin, Amy Gogin, Katie Griepentrog, Dawn Green, Braedon Klemm, Cassi Gersbach, Bryce Gersbach, D.J. Gersbach, Joseph Green, Faye Green, Lilly Edwards and Allison Brennan.
The public is invited to attend. A reception will follow.
