ARGYLE — The Argyle Public Library will be sponsoring a community program, “Recognition and Resilience: Grief and the Loss of Traditions During the Pandemic” at 6 p.m. Aug. 10 at the Bob La Follette Museum, 204 N. State St. Presenters will be Kim Mindham, Shawn Monson and Sheryl Brokopp of Project Recovery.

Are you someone who has suffered great loss during the pandemic?

● Cancelled in-person holiday gatherings with friends and families

● No in-person meetings with support groups and counselors

● Remote schooling and not being able to walk at graduation

● Forced to close your business

● Separated from your spouse

● Selling your dairy herd and/or farm

● Lost a loved one during the pandemic whether due to Covid-19, or not able to be with them

It is important to recognize the absence or interruption of traditional customs and rituals, both celebratory and grief-oriented. This discussion is intended to acknowledge what was lost, to embrace closure and to reclaim and reimagine the rites and rituals that help make your lives make sense.
