ARGYLE - The Argyle American Legion Auxiliary Unit 251 is asking for help with the annual Christmas drive for the men and women veterans at the Madison VA Hospital.
Due to donations and community help, more than $7,000 worth of items were delivered last year. The American Legion Auxiliary volunteers see between 900 and 1,000 patients daily besides the in-patients, transplants and epileptic and other patients in the Community Living Center.
The VA Hospital is requesting the following new items: white socks, sweat shirts, sweatpants, underwear, men's shoes in sizes 9, 91â"2, 10, 101â"2 and 11 for the clothing room. Other items that are needed include: afghans, lap robes, small quilts, decks of cards, Forever postage stamps, small toothpaste, tooth brushes, combs, hair brushes, nail clippers, nail files, greeting cards, word searches, crossword puzzles, snack items, newborn diapers, wipes, diaper bags, 0-3 month baby outfits, receiving blankets, slo-flo bottles, pacifiers, baby Orajel, diaper cream and infant toys.
Please send monetary donations to the Argyle American Legion Auxiliary Unit 251, c/o Linda Hanson, N6780 Biggs Road, Argyle, WI 53504. Items can be delivered to the Argyle Community Building kitchen, 401 E. Milwaukee St., by Dec. 1.
