Argyle Fish Fry is Saturday

ARGYLE - The 77th annual Argyle Fish Fry will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the EMS building in Argyle.

The menu will include fried fish, French-fried potatoes and ice cream with all the trimmings. Cheese samples will be available, donated by Lafayette and Green counties cheese factories.

The cost is $12.50 for adults and $5.75 for children under 12, with carryouts for $13. Handicapped parking will be available at the First National Bank and Trust parking lot.

Registration begins at 10 a.m. at Good Fellas Tavern for the Argyle Lion's Club annual Fun Ride. Cars, motorcycles and trucks are welcome, and there will be drawings for cash and door prizes at the end of the run. This will be held rain or shine, and maps will be available that day.

Duck Races on the Pecatonica River will start at 2 p.m.; the finish line will be at Robert Wenger Boat Landing. Prizes of $750 for first-place winners, $300 for second, $100 for third, $50 for fourth and $25 for 10 fifth-place winners will be awarded. Tickets are $5 and available throughout the community.

Live music will be provided from 5 to 9 p.m. by Rowe Bros Band. Good Fellas Bar and Grill will have music by Extreme Sound DJ at 5 p.m. and at 9 p.m. live music by Brian McLaughlin. Peg's Farm Band will be at the Corner Pub and Deli at 8 p.m.
