Area teachers attend annual John Muir Academy

MADISON - Teachers from Monroe and Juda school districts attended the 15th annual John Muir Academy for math, science and technology, July 28 through Aug. 1, hosted by Verona High School, Verona. Participating teachers were: Barbara McArdle, Sheri Schaefer, Debra Thompson, Lynda Miller, Christine Waldman, Margaret Brunette, Kathy Patrick, Debbie Schmidt, Loren Homb, Nathan Cannon and Linda Carl, Monroe School District; and Jan Ostendorf, Juda School District.

The John Muir Academy is part of a statewide staff development program, partially funded by local businesses, to improve science, mathematics, technology, and other core areas in education. The workshops provide teacher participants with teaching tools to engage their students.
