MONROE - More than $45,000 in the form of 34 grants was presented to nonprofit organizations serving the needs of the Monroe area.
The 2017 grants were awarded from the Monroe Fund, Reasa Charitable Fund, Dr. Fred W. and Alice J. Kundert Charitable Fund, Reasa Historic Preservation Fund, Robert B. Olson Investment Fund for Monroe High School and the Thomas F. Campion Charitable Fund. The reception was held in the courtroom on the top floor of the Green County Courthouse in Monroe. Refreshments were provided by Colony Brands.

The six funds are components of the Community Foundation of Southern Wisconsin, a nonprofit public foundation serving nine southern Wisconsin counties. The Monroe Fund and the Community Foundation of Southern Wisconsin assist individuals with their charitable contributions in order to create enduring endowments for their communities.
The Monroe Fund was established Aug. 30, 1996. In the 21 years since, grant awards have exceeded $578,605. A wide array of interests, including the arts, education, recreation, heath care, human services, social services, historic preservation and housing needs, have benefited from these grants that assist Monroe residents in all age groups.
