MADISON - Dance Wisconsin is celebrating its fourth decade with a season of ballet, sugar plum fairies and outreach to area communities. Dance Wisconsin is a longtime fixture at area charities. Its dancers have gone on to professionally perform around the world. Along the way, it has engendered careers in choreography and the creation of the Madison Ballet.
Excerpts from the Choreographers' Showcase will be presented Jan. 28 at Promenade Hall at Overture Center.
Dancers from the area performing in the Showcase are Jessica Schmitt, daughter of Julie and Peter Schmitt of Monticello, and Emily Ginocchio, daughter of Martha and David Ginocchio of New Glarus.
The season concludes with "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland" March 11-12 at the Mitby Theater of Madison College.
