Area biz teacher graduates

MADISON - Sherri Hendrickson, who teaches Business Education at Monroe High School, recently completed the 2011 Wisconsin Insurance Education Institute, a graduate course designed to provide teachers with the information and tools they need to teach the concepts of risk management and insurance as part of their school's financial literacy curriculum.

The institute cover general principles of insurance, how the industry works, analysis of major personal insurance policies and personal financial planning.

Additionally, Hendrickson was awarded the John C. Etling Scholarship and a $750 award from The Griffith Foundation, for achieving the highest degree of excellence in the institute. In addition, a $250 award will be sent to Monroe High School for materials and equipment in the business department.
