MONROE - Amy Rosebrough, staff archaeologist at the State Archaeology and Maritime Preservation Program with the Wisconsin Historical Society, will speak at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 5, when the Green County Genealogical Society holds its meeting in the upper level of the Monroe Public Library.
Rosebrough has been employed with the Wisconsin Historical Society for eight years as an archaeologist.
The program will include information on how they identify and catalog sites. Other information will let people know what to do if they find an area that is possibly a burial site; what can be done to preserve this and how they go about cataloging them for future reference.
GCGS will hold a short business meeting to bring members up to date on the present cataloging of cemeteries in Green County. The public is invited to attend all meetings and a social hour follows. For more information, call (608) 363-0554.
