MONROE - Applications are currently being accepted for Monroe's Market on the Square, which begins Wednesday, May 13. Vendors wishing to sell locally produced agricultural products are invited to open a booth during the Market season which includes all Wednesdays and Saturdays through the end of the fall growing season. Market hours are 2 p.m.-5:30 p.m. on Wednesdays and 8 a.m.-1 p.m. on Saturdays. Low-cost fees vary according to how much of the season a vendor wants to utilize to sell his products.

Interested persons are also invited to attend the farmers' market season kick-off meeting slated for March 18. The potluck dinner will be held in the Community Meeting Room at Amcore Bank. The meal begins at 6 p.m. with a short business meeting to follow. Those attending should bring a dish to pass; beverage and table service will be provided.
