Annual rock show begins Saturday

MONROE - The Badger Lapidary and Geological Society is presenting the 45th annual Rock, Gem, Mineral and Fossil Show from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the Monroe High School, 1600 26th St.

The show is free but donations are accepted.

There will be 10 dealers, guest speakers, club displays and demonstrations, club sales table, hourly door prizes and educational films. Activities for kids include a fishpond, spinner game, scavenger hunt, rock polishing and the wisest of roving rock wizards.

Hot lunch will be provided by Monroe High School students FCCLA and Monroe High School catering.

Speakers include Dr. Joanne Klussendorf, Weise Earth Science Museum, Menasha; Dan Trocke, BLGS; Steve Simpson, Highland Community College, Freeport; and Mike Reisch, Earthaven Museum, Gillette.
