James and Janette Soddy of Janesville will celebrate 65 years of marriage with a family dinner in late October.
James Soddy and Janette Black were married Nov. 22, 1952, at St. John's E and R Church in Monroe.
He retired from AT&T in 1992 and from the Wisconsin Air National Guard. She retired from Rock County Emergency Management in 1992 and had previously worked many years at the Rock County District Attorney's office. Both are graduates of Monroe High School.
The Soddys are the parents of Steve Soddy of Solon Springs; Judy (Randy) Fitzmaurice of Andrews, Indiana; and Dave (Tammy) Soddy of Milton. They have seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
