Jim and Stel Kosek are celebrating 40 years of marriage. They were married on Feb. 21, 1976, at Grace Lutheran Church of Monroe. A few years later they settled on a 10-acre farmette outside of Monroe, where they still live today. Stel worked at Wal-Mart for 16 years and Jim served the Monroe Police Department for 40 years before retiring to join Stel at home.

Jim and Stel continue to enjoy their retirement, spending time working in their vegetable garden and on various other projects on the farm.

Jim and Stel have three children and four grandchildren with one more on the way.

Friends and family are invited to Flanagan's of Monroe at 6:30 p.m. Saturday for an anniversary celebration.
