MONROE - The Monroe American Legion will have a flag retirement ceremony at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the American Legion Post Home to dispose of unserviceable flags. The official ceremony of the American Legion is the approved method of disposing of United States flags that have become worn, torn, faded or badly soiled. Citizens are encouraged to replace worn and torn flags with new ones.
