MONROE - On Saturday, the American Legion, American Legion Auxiliary, Sons of the American Legion and The American Legion Riders hosted information tables at Piggly Wiggly and Pick "N Save.
American Legion Family distributed information and answered questions on Legion Family College Scholarships, veteran's benefits, Americanism and Children and Youth programs, and other programs and community events the American Legion Family participates in.
Piggly Wiggly and Pick "N Save each donated a gift card to raffle off to a winner. The recipient of the Piggly Wiggly gift card was Kirk Oliver; Bob Hauser received the Pick "N Save gift card.
The organizations collected donations for the American Legion Child Welfare Foundation. CWF grants fund organizations that directly assist the country's youth. To date, more than $13 million has been awarded to assist the nation's children.
