WISCONSIN RAPIDS - Three Albany students were among the nearly 200 high school FFA members attending the Wisconsin Farm Bureau's 42nd annual FFA Farm Forum on Feb. 21 and Feb. 22.

Those attending from the Albany FFA Chapter were: Liz Schroeder, Jordan Stefanik and Brennan Bloedel. They were sponsored by Green County Farm Bureau.

The two-day event provided an opportunity for high school FFA members to learn more about careers in agriculture and explore their potential roles as future agricultural leaders.

FFA members from around the state attended workshops with topics including post-high school agricultural opportunities, misconceptions about agriculture, current legislative issues in agriculture, scientific uses of the soybean, jobs, the impact of animal genetics around the world, biotechnology, professional careers in agriculture and agriculturist program opportunities.

Jim Holte, president of the Wisconsin Farm Bureau Federation, was the keynote speaker at the event. Rick Roden of West Bend, a former chairman of the Wisconsin Farm Bureau's Young Farmer and Agriculturist Committee, and Carrie Mess of Lake Mills, who blogs under the name Dairy Carrie, were also speakers at the event.

The Wisconsin Farm Bureau Federation sponsors the FFA Farm Forum in cooperation with the Wisconsin Association of FFA. This year's meeting marked the 42nd year that the Farm Bureau family of affiliates has sponsored this special event for FFA members.
