Albany Homecoming Week activities set

ALBANY - Albany High School is celebrating Homecoming Oct. 5-11. The theme of homecoming is "Dancing through the Decades." Each class is assigned a decade: freshmen: 1950s; sophomores: 1960s; juniors: 1970s; and seniors: 1980's. The schedule follows:

Sunday, Oct. 5: Class float building may begin

Monday, Oct. 6: Spirit Week begins. Dress-up day: "Superhero Day" ; Volleyball at lunch: seniors vs. freshmen; Kiss the Pig starts - jars in high school office.

Tuesday, Oct. 7: Dress-up day: "50's and 60"s Day"; Class meetings during plus period; Volleyball at lunch: juniors vs. sophomores

Wednesday, Oct. 8: Dress-up day: "Battle of Colors Day"- Each class is assigned a color: dress from head to toe; Volleyball at lunch: losers of Monday vs. Tuesday

Thursday, Oct. 9: Dress-up day: "70's and 80's Day"; Volleyball at lunch: Winner of Monday vs. Winner of Tuesday

Friday, Oct. 10: Dress-up day: "Comet Spirit Day"; Pep Assembly 1:15 - 2:15 p.m.; Volleyball: Winner of Thursday match against teachers/staff; Crowning of king and queen; Announcement of Spirit Award; Kiss the Pig; Parade leaves at 2:30 p.m. from gym parking lot to Legion Park

Saturday, Oct. 11: Homecoming Dance - 8 p.m. to midnight; single $6; spectators $3; Grand March at 9:30 p.m.
