ALBANY - Girl Scouts of Wisconsin-Badgerland announced that four local Girl Scouts, all from Albany, are top cookie sellers for 2016. Serena Parmer, Junior Troop 3253 sold 3,170 boxes of cookies; Skye McDermott, Junior Troop 3253 sold 2,305 boxes of cookies; Myah Johnson, Junior Troop 9032 sold 2,016 boxes of cookies; and Jessica Short, Senior Troop 3170 sold 2,016 boxes of cookies.
These Girl Scouts are among the highest sellers through the 24-county Badgerland Council. A total of 6,609 Badgerland Girl Scouts participated in this year's Cookie Program, which is designed to teach girls real-world skills including money management, decision making, goal-setting, business ethics and improved communication with others.
In total, Badgerland Girl Scouts sold nearly 1.5 million boxes of cookies during the five-week program in February and March.
