ORANGEVILLE -A Community Together, a non-profit organization focused on the development of the greater Orangeville area, announces receipt of a $3,000 grant from the Donald V. and Britta A. Peterson Memorial Fund of the Community Foundation of Northern Illinois. According to Harry Bowen, president of ACT, the grant will be used to support the show season for the Mighty Richland Players Dinner/Dessert Theater (MRPDT) and to perform shows in several venues during the year, to include Stockton, Galena, and Freeport.

"During the past eight years, we have seen tremendous growth in MRPDT," Bowen said. "We have been leaders in working with the Borderline Arts Coalition, a group of participating non-profit performing arts groups, including the Freeport Community Concert Association, Freeport Art Museum, Winneshiek Players, Monroe Theatre Guild, and Plum River Playhouse."

Through this grant, the MRPDT is able to bring composer, playwright and actor Mike Craver to northwest Illinois to participate in "Bosh and Moonshine."

"Bosh and Moonshine" will be playing for the month of May in the area. The show, written by Mike Craver (Oil City Symphony, Smoke on the Mountain, Radio Gals) is a musical docu-comedy celebrating the historic Gaiety Saloon in Dodge City, Kansas.

"Bosh and Moonshine" opens the first weekend in May in Orangeville (MRPDT) as a dessert theater. Play dates for this venue are May 1-May 3. Tickets, $20 per person, are available by calling (815) 819-1310 or visit the Web site at www.mightyrichlandplayers.com. The show will play the weekend of May 8-10 in Stockton at Plum River Playhouse, and will play at the Freeport Masonic Temple Ballroom as a dinner theater for the weekend of May 15-17. Tickets for the show plus dinner are $40 per person, group discounts available. Telephone MRPDT ((815) 819-1310 or the Masonic Temple (815) 233-0513 for tickets or more information.
