BROWNTOWN - University of Wisconsin-Madison student and Browntown native Hillary Barnes was recently awarded the Edda Valborg Ofstie Scholarship during the School of Music's Annual Award Convocation April 21.

Barnes is a Bachelor of Arts in Music Performance on Percussion. Her activities include Concert Band, Wind Ensemble, Chamber Orchestra, UW Symphony, University Opera, UW World Ensemble and Afro-Cuban Ensemble.

This summer she will be performing with various artists and ensembles around the Madison area, including Madison Community Orchestra, Edgewood Chamber Orchestra and the St. Joseph's choir in Lodi.

MONROE - Hannah Grossen, Monroe, was awarded a $500 scholarship by Mid-West Dairymen's Company. Grossen is attending Edgewood College, majoring in elementary education and child life. This is the second year in a row that Grossen has been awarded a scholarship from Mid-West Dairymen's Company.

PLATTEVILLE - Clarey Knellwolf, Darlington, and Molly Finkenbinder, Darlington, recently earned Phi Kappa Phi honors at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville. Phi Kappa Phi honors are earned by students who are at least in the top 10 percent of their class ranking for seniors and seven percent for juniors.
