NEW GLARUS - Dallas Andersen has qualified to represent the New Glarus Middle School and participate at the state level of the National Geography Bee. The state Bee will be Friday, April 3, in Madison. To qualify, Andersen had to win the school Bee and then score in the top 100 in the state on the written exam. The exam was written and scored by the National Geographic Society.
If Andersen wins, he will then be eligible to participate in the National Bee, which will be held May 19 and 20 in Washington, D.C.
Andersen is the third student from New Glarus to quality for the state Bee since its inception in New Glarus in 1992.
