EAU CLAIRE - The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire chapter of the national Alpha Lambda Delta and Phi Eta Sigma honor societies for first-year students recently announced the induction of 221 members and named 2008-09 officers. Anna Havens, Monticello, is one of the UW-Eau Claire initiates this year.
Alpha Lambda Delta and Phi Eta Sigma are national honor societies that recognize and encourage academic excellence among first-year students. Membership in Alpha Lambda Delta and Phi Eta Sigma is available to full-time freshmen who achieve a grade-point average of 3.5 or better at a four-year college or university and are in the top 20 percent of their class.
