5K trail run held to benefit Cadiz Springs recreation area

MONROE - Monroe Youth Hockey and Friends of Browntown Cadiz Springs State Recreation Area will hold a 5K Trail Run on Saturday, Aug. 29, at Cadiz Springs State Recreation Area. Check-in will begin at 7:45 a.m. and the race will start at 9 a.m.

The course will consist mostly of mowed trails in the Recreation Area, with some short hills, but will also include a short stretch of road and some paved parking lot. Prizes will be awarded to the first-, second-, and third-place winners. The registration fee is $20 if postmarked before Aug. 15. Participants may register on the day of the race for $25.

There will also be a two-mile Narrated Fun Walk, which will include a guided nature tour for all ages. The registration fee for the Fun Walk is $30 per family, and the family will receive one T-shirt. Only those who pre-register for the 5K Trail Run or the Fun Walk will be guaranteed a T-shirt.
