BLANCHARDVILLE - The Green County 4-H Program held its annual awards and recognition banquet on Sunday, Oct. 26 at the Pecatonica High School in Blanchardville. Key Award winners, Brandon Barnes, York 4-H; Tommy Butts, Browntown Busy Beavers 4-H; Alicia Gordee, Browntown Busy Beavers 4-H; Dana Karlen, Washington Center 4-H; Michelle Priebe, Browntown Busy Beavers 4-H; and Chelsea Vogel, Hiawatha 4-H, were recognized and awarded the 2008 Wisconsin 4-H Key Award.

The prestigious annual Key Award, one of the highest honors a 4-H member can receive. The youth receiving this award have demonstrated consistent growth in their 4-H involvement, developed and applied their leadership skills, and actively participated in the functions of their club and community.

"To recognize members that have pledged their head, heart, hands and health to 4-H and have continuously grown from the program is what this recognition is all about. It is truly an honor to distinguish these youth for all of their accomplishments, " UW-Extension Green County 4-H and Youth Development Agent Alissa Grenawalt said.

Key Award recipients are high school students with at least three years of experience in 4-H and one year as a youth leader. The Wisconsin Farm Bureau and Rural Insurance Companies, sponsor the Wisconsin 4-H Key Award Program.
