MONROE - About 45 4-H members and their leaders from 4-H clubs from all over Green County joined together on Tuesday, Dec. 10 to assemble more than 100 emergency food kits for every home-delivered meal recipient in Green County.

'Blizzard Boxes' were donated by Swiss Colony. Items in the boxes were donated by 4-H members and included bottled water, instant cereal, pasta/meat meal, mixed fruit, granola bars and applesauce. A Christmas card was also signed by the 4-H members and were inserted into every box. Treats included homemade Christmas cookies baked by the Green County Dairy Queens.
