4-H cleans up Cadiz Springs park

BROWNTOWN - On May 13, the Friends of Cadiz Springs, Browntown, held its annual Cadiz Springs State Recreation Area Cleanup Day. Again this year, the Next Generation 4-H Club and the Hiawatha 4-H Club members joined forces to help clean the park as a community service event, tackling several different projects. They cleaned and raked the beach and volleyball areas; repaired the bridge, steps and rails on the walking path; repaired the volleyball post and net; picked up sticks and trash; cleaned out the barbecue pits; swept out the bathrooms and shelters; and cleaned up the area around the monuments and park signs. The turn-out for this event totaled 69 youth and adults from all three groups.
