MONROE — Applications are being accepted through Aug. 1 for the position of 2020 Green County Cheese Days Ambassador. The ambassador will represent the festival at state, regional and local events, with duties including public speaking, presentations, interviews and establishing a social media presence. 

Applicants must be at least 18 years of age by Nov. 1 and should demonstrate knowledge of and/or experience and interest in the dairy or cheese industry. Preference will be given to applicants with a background in communications, marketing and/or public relations.  Additionally, applicants should be willing to learn about cheesemaking past and present, along with the history of the festival. 

Applicants must be residents of Green County or employed in Green County. 

Official duties of the Cheese Days ambassador begin at the 2020 Cheese Days Kick Off scheduled for Nov. 4.

Top candidates will be invited for an interview on the morning of Saturday, Aug. 17.  

Candidates will be asked to write (in advance) and present (in person at the interview) a 30-second radio spot to promote the festival.
