I'm Steve Rackow President of the International Association of Machinist and Aerospace Workers Local Lodge 1266, and although I'm not a public employee I'm deeply concerned by Gov. Walker's attack on public sector workers.

The proposal to impose drastic cuts on teachers, social workers and other public service workers who provide vital services to Wisconsin communities isn't about trimming the budget. It's the first step in what promises to be a full-on assault on the middle class and all unions.

If Gov. Walker succeeds, who will be there to fight for workers? To fight against age discrimination? To fight against outsourcing? Unions help keep the economy in balance, acting as a necessary check to the growing power of corporate CEOs and Wall Street.

Wisconsin doesn't need partisan attacks - we need balanced solutions to restore our economy. Gov. Walker, Please focus on creating the 250,000 jobs you promised - not on forcing cuts that will sink our economy even lower.
