Carper: MHS Grateful for Community and Business Support
MHS Logo

Monroe High School is incredibly fortunate to have the support of local businesses and community members. Without the involvement of our business partners and mentors, we would not be able to offer the many hands-on opportunities that help students explore potential careers through real-world projects, work experiences, job shadows and mock interviews.

We want to take a moment to express our sincere gratitude to everyone who helps prepare our students for life after graduation.

Thank You to Our LAUNCH Business Mentors

We are also grateful to the businesses and organizations that submitted real-world projects for our LAUNCH students. These projects allow students to take a deep dive into professional areas of interest through project-based learning experiences.

Teams of students are currently working with project coaches and their teachers on many diverse projects this trimester. Project coaches meet with students for about an hour each week to provide guidance, structure and valuable feedback to help students achieve their best results.

Thank You to Job Shadow Hosts and Mock Interviewers

As part of the English 11 class, all Monroe High School juniors explore a specific career, complete a job shadow, develop a resume and cover letter, and participate in a mock interview. Over the course of the school year, more than 150 students will reach out to local businesses to shadow an employee for four to eight hours. These experiences help students gain a realistic understanding of what a typical workday looks like in various careers.

We’ll also be conducting mock interviews for each of our 150 juniors to help them practice their professional communication skills. Thank you to all who have volunteered their time to support this effort. Your one-hour commitment makes a lasting difference for our students.

If you are interested in supporting Monroe High School through student employment, a LAUNCH project, job shadow opportunity or mock interviews, please contact Cara Carper at caracarper@monroe.k12.wi.us or (608) 328-7573.

Thank you for helping our students prepare for their futures!
