A compliment to Joseph Geyer for the informative, fact-written letter in the Saturday, April 18, issue of The Monroe Times. I urge anyone to reread that letter, as it tells it like it is. I appreciate the news media when they print the facts, but not when thousands of people attended the tea parties on "Tax Day," April 15, and reporters stated hundreds.

Those attending had traveled many miles, walked many blocks to find parking and then to the main gathering places to voice their concerns and opinions.

After all this effort, they were called right-wing extremists, uneducated and totally incapable of independent thought.

Ask yourself if there were any reports of property damage, personal injury or police intervention? Apparently, these thousands of uneducated protesters knew how to conduct themselves in a manner all should be proud of. Love of God, country, honesty and character were shown. I write from reports given by a daughter and son-in-law who attended the Atlanta rally of 20,000 to 25,000; a daughter who attended the Madison rally; and a grandson who attended a rally near San Francisco. All were greatly impressed by the huge numbers and sincerity, common sense and peaceful rallies.
