I proudly join Judges Ramona Gonzalez, James Beer and Judge Thomas Vale, all of whom have endorsed Judge Ed Leineweber for Wisconsin's Court of Appeals. We stand together with over 40 judges, in backing Judge Leineweber, who of the two candidates, has vastly superior qualifications and a dignified record of service as circuit court judge in Richland Center, for 13 years.
Electing Leineweber to the currently vacant seat would bring needed trial experience to the Court of Appeals, otherwise lacking. Additionally, I concur that geographic diversity, meaning rural county representation is needed on this particular court, as District IV's makeup is 24 counties - 23 of them mostly rural and Dane County.
Simple fact is that Leineweber's opponent has never been a judge - and still wears his party's label, so if rural citizens really want rural representation on what's often termed the "Court of Correction"- rural voters must become active to overcome Madison voter turnout April 6! That may take some doing, given the media has paid little attention to this race or its candidates. If elections were only about judicial qualifications and the ability to be fair, independent and non-partisan, Judge Leineweber should win handily, for unlike his opponent, Leineweber has more experience.
Bottom line - many judges and I believe that Ed Leineweber is the better candidate and right for the job given private practice experience, and a proven, unblemished record of public service to city, county and state.
Look to Leineweber if like me, you want the court to treat all fairly and justly.
