Same-day paper in Orangeville?
Placeholder Image
Your March 11th edition states the newspaper no longer will be delivered by carriers. I receive the paper between 1:30 and 2:30 p.m. each day by carrier here in Orangeville. At our post office, we pick up our mail at 10 to 10:30 a.m. each morning.

Does this new plan mean I'll have the Monroe paper on the days it is printed, and it will be at the Orangeville post office by 10:30 a.m. that day? If it is sent in the mail, will it not go from Monroe to Madison to Rockford to Orangeville? If so, how can we receive the news on the current day?

We receive the Freeport newspaper, also. It recently stopped publishing a Monday edition. Our convertor box brings in only three Madison stations - no Rockford stations! If our Monroe paper arrives a day late, then all of the above avenues of getting the news is what is called "progress?" I don't think so.

At least the radio still gives the news, but I'm beginning to feel as though I live in a cave instead of 2009.

Editor's Note: The Times will be delivered same day by the U.S. Postal Service in Orangeville and throughout our circulation area.>
