Outsourcing, huge profits hurting America

I have been following the stories involving the plant closing in Janesville. My heart goes out to those who will become unemployed. I myself lost my job two years ago due to outsourcing. It seems in the last six months a number of local companies have closed their doors. It is a sad time for many who live in southern Wisconsin.

I have a couple of points to express that I'm sure you would agree with. I have no idea what we, the average citizen, can do to wake up corporate America.

First, the outsourcing of American jobs to other countries has affected many of us. That has come back to bite them in the butt with all the recalls. Our pets were poisoned, and then many of the toys our children played with were toxic. Then prescription drugs were recalled, they too were being manufactured outside the U.S.

The major oil companies are making horrendous profits, while middle America can barely make enough income to pay the bills. Their response, "supply and demand." I would like to know why we even buy oil from overseas. We built the Alaskan Pipeline back in the 60s so we could become independent of buying oil from other countries (that was the argument at the time). The oil companies decided they would make more profit to sell that oil overseas and keep buying from the Middle East.

Eventually we will be a nation with only two classes, the rich and the poor.

We need to keep jobs here in America. There needs to be a cap placed on major corporations that are making horrendous profits off the backs of the working class. I have no idea how this will come about. But something needs to be done very soon.

Thank you for letting me express my views.
