Sen. Barack Obama has promised, if elected president, "Change is Coming." How would this change affect the following?
1. The Economy - The cornerstone of the Obama tax plan is that a married family whose income is $250,000 or less would receive a tax break. Since 35-40 percent of American families don't pay any federal income tax, there would be a direct payment in the form of a tax rebate from those making over $250,000 to those not paying any federal income tax. The government should only provide a level playing field for all citizens by vigorously fighting any discriminatory practices. It should not try to redistribute wealth.
A prime example of the Democrats trying to share the wealth gone wrong is the current sub-prime mess, which is the prime reason our economy is in shambles. In the late 1990s, Democrats in Congress began the sub-prime loan explosion. They pushed for risky loans in urban areas to unqualified borrowers. Local and major banks were threatened and coerced into making risky loans. Community groups such as ACORN were a major player in the "arm twisting." With the bursting of the housing bubble, there were many foreclosures. This eventually led to the government takeover of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, which was deeply involved in these sub-prime loans. Attempts to increase regulation or oversight were thwarted by a strong Democratic minority in 2005. Two years later all the problems began. Strike One.
2. Energy Development - This was the major problem facing our country before the economy hit the skids. Increased oil exploration and all new forms of alternative energy sources should be encouraged. Many Democrats in Congress, and until recently Obama, did not want to increase drilling. Only after a loud public outcry did they agree to consider additional drilling. But they only want oil companies to drill in areas where there is no or little oil. They want prime offshore areas and ANWAR off-limits. Strike Two.
3. Judicial Appointments: An Obama presidency would stack the federal courts with liberal justices. Whatever liberal agenda Congress could not legislate could be implemented judicially by these left-leaning judges. The next president will appoint one or two justices. Strike Three.
You're out.
Obama loses.
Vote John McCain for president.
