What can you say about President Obama? He is articulate, eloquent, energetic, driven, a man of diverse talents. Some would say the perfect man for the job of president of the United States in these changing times. Some have gone so far as to hale him as "Messiah." Henry Kissinger has tapped him to be the leader of a new global government, something like president of the world.
In an effort to show his humanitarian side, the president has signed executive orders to close "Gitmo" banning the torture of terrorists, even though after release they may again become enemy combatants against the U.S and its allies.
In another attempt at compassion to help underprivileged women worldwide, the president rescinded the Mexico City Policy. The policy prohibited U.S. taxpayer money from going to foreign non-governmental organizations to promote abortion. Coincidentally he signed this one day after The Walk for Life where 200,000 people showed up to support the preborn in Washington, D.C. This was the 36th anniversary of Roe v. Wade. In those 36 years an estimated 50 million abortions have been done in the United States - 50 million lives lost.
With the resurrection of this policy, the president has allocated $441 million of U.S. taxpayer funds for worldwide abortions. That is on top of $335 million of taxpayer money to fund Planned Parenthood's abortion business in this country. That's a whopping $776 million to fund abortion.
At a debate last year at Saddleback Church, the candidate Obama said as president he would work to reduce abortions. Would this be a broken campaign promise or some clever new way to actually reduce abortions? Both sides of the abortion debate agree, when abortion is subsidized, abortions will increase.
So thanks to President Obama's actions, U.S. taxpayers will be forced not only to fund abortion in the U.S. but also to export a culture of death to countries all over the world. The babies will continue to lose their lives and pro-abortion groups and abortion providers will continue to fill their pockets with U.S. taxpayer money.
May God have mercy on us.
