The recent decision of a federal appeals court striking down a Wisconsin law which limited how much any one person can donate to independent political action groups annually again reinforces the old saying that "money talks." It also upholds the U.S. Supreme Court ruling that money is free speech. That ruling more or less confirmed what has always been believed that "one person - one vote" was changed to "one dollar - one vote." Thus, the ability to express oneself depends on how much money he or she has at their disposal.
I and many of my citizens believe that this is not what our "Founding Fathers" had in mind when they formed our U.S. Constitution. It is my fervent hope that those who are in the position of representing me may rethink their position on their subject and act to reverse this wrongful decision.
If the old saying of "Money talks and (blank) walks" is true, then my money only whispers but my boots are clean.
