From Richard Daniels
Executive Director, Monroe Arts Center
The Monroe Arts Center is pleased to publicly acknowledge our gratitude to United Way of Green County for its substantial support over the many years of our Performances in the Schools Program.
United Way understands the importance of music and the arts in our children's education. The evidence is overwhelming that students in music in middle and secondary school excel academically over their peers not in music.
United Way understands the Performances in the Schools Program is not simply instructive and entertaining for students but that it inspires students to seriously consider their musical and artistic inclinations.
Finally, United Way understands that our society has changed into a knowledge culture and to compete within this society requires imagination. And there is no better way to expand students' imagination than through the arts.
We are grateful for the United Way's enlightened support.
