To the Editor:
Once again President Trump is using powers he just does not have. His latest power grab is against the foreign students who came to this country because they believed they would get an excellent education in our colleges and universities and some were even thinking of staying here after they graduate.
But now at least 1,100 students in 174 American colleges and university systems “have had their visas revoked or their legal status terminated”. One female student’s visa was revoked just a few days away from graduation and had paid $132,900 in tuition. If she was sent home with no degree her tuition remained at her college. For her it meant no degree. All tuition paid for nothing.
President Trump’s actions will create more enemies from these other countries. Guess how their parents would feel when they returned home with no degree? People of voting age, how would you like that to happen to your child who was studying in another country. I would guess your child would become just like a lot of these foreign students now feel — this girl for instance and so many others have been consumed by anxiety they feel all day long.
Some are scared to go to class or just go outside. They feel they will be deported. When an entry visa is canceled it could mean that the student will be deported.
President Trump is not acting like a sane man. He has been studied by many psychologists who have found many psychological problems exist in him.
Why do you think he wants so much power he wants to be king. Please see he needs mental health because what I just wrote was the tip of the iceberg. Twenty-seven psychiatrists and psychologists co-wrote a 2017 book, “The Dangerous Case of Donald Trump”.
Now for some unknown reason he is trying to hurt students concerning their education here. Many want to stay in our country, but I don’t know now how they feel. Please remember our country was settled and built by immigrants coming here. Every one of us had a parent or grandparents or further back who came from other counties. They were brave people. And every one of them deserved a president who had a mind that was not mentally ill. Mr. Trump’s story is a sad one and it would be inhumane if we did not want him helped.
